When we say it takes time to develop a shoe - we really mean it.
Our new women's Chelsea boot started as an idea back in December of last year 2024 .
An idea born of curiosity, passion and many hours where Helle and I sat and tinkered with everything from cuts, soles and stitching to colors, function and fit.
We wanted to create a boot that feels as free as your children's barefoot shoes, but with an elegant look that you'll want to wear for both everyday wear and parties.
You had been asking for a long time, "when will you make something for us women"? But in a small company, there has to be money to develop new shoes :-)
From sketch to shoe
We started the process with mood boards, inspiration and all the feedback we've received from you over the past year 🙏
Your wishes and ideas mean a lot to us - and we have actually built many of the details you mentioned into this model.
Once the idea is ready, we send everything to our developer in Portugal, who goes to the factory and begins the initial work on materials, fit and soles.
And then the part of the process that requires patience begins - the first samples .
The first version?
Too rough, too heavy, the lines too masculine (maybe for a men's model one day 😉).
So we went back to the drawing board - fine-tuned colors, stitching, lines and shapes.
The second attempt came closer, but we still lacked the right sole – so we brainstormed with our developer and found it, and at the same time we also found a soft insole , which became/will become an integrated part of the shoe, if you wish.
Test, test and more test
When we finally got a pair each, we tested for several months.
We adjusted the details a little more - and made the final decisions about colors and quantities.
We originally only had a budget for one color, but in collaboration with our developer and the factory we managed to make a smaller batch in two colors.
It was important to us that the boot lived up to everything Gogsig stands for:

👉 Natural comfort
👉 And a feeling of not being limited
We wanted to create a boot you don't want to take off - because it feels like an extension of yourself.
A year later…
11 months after the first idea, we now have the result:
Our first women's Chelsea boot.
A shoe that represents freedom, strength and elegance - without compromise.
It's been a tough year with many hats on for Helle and me - but it's all worth it when we stand here today.
